Our story.

We have been working together for 30 years.

Moneta was founded in 2014,
but its story begins three decades ago.

One of the many things that stands out about Moneta is that our partners have been working together for most of their careers. Prior to founding Moneta, they built, scaled, and sold two successful technology businesses, and today bring their deep entrepreneurial and operational experience and expertise to every company we invest in. Learn more about our story below.

1994 – 1996

Lokesh Sikaria, Aasim Hasan, and Brent Kelton start their professional careers at PriceWaterhouse (now IBM Global Services) in management consulting. They subsequently leave to join Rapidigm, a small consulting firm with $25 million in annual revenue.

1996 – 2005

Vaibhav Nadgauda, Denise Ferre, and Ashu Bhalla join the Rapidigm team. Along with Aasim and Brent, they quickly climb the ranks to executive leadership positions while Lokesh becomes president. By 2005, Rapidigm has reached $300 million in annual revenue and is sold to Fujitsu Consulting.

2005 – 2008

Many of the team members transition into executive management positions at Fujitsu, where they report to the board and play an important role in helping to run a multi-billion-dollar global business.

2008 – 2014

The team leaves Fujitsu and launches Sparta Consulting to provide SAP solutions to enterprise customers around the globe. Sparta grows organically to over $125 million in annual revenue. Sparta is ultimately sold to KPIT, a publicly listed company on the Mumbai stock exchange.

2014 – today

Lokesh and team found Moneta Ventures with an inaugural $45 million fund out of Sacramento, California, with the aim of using their entrepreneurial and operational experience to help their portfolio companies. In 2018, Moneta opens its co-headquarters in Austin, Texas, and launches a $64 million Fund II. This is followed by a $200 million+ Fund III in 2023.
